Meet Lisa

Upholstery is more than a trade — it’s my art.

Hi, I’m Lisa, the hands behind Boho Velvet Upholstery.

I’m an artist at heart and a lover of fabric and furniture. My roots are in traditional upholstery, using as many traditional materials and methods as possible.

I love to reuse, repair and renew furniture, transforming old or dated pieces into something beautiful, useful and unique.

To me, upholstery is a blend of engineering and artistic design — sculpting raw fibres, selecting fabrics, and using techniques honed over centuries to create functional art.

Based in Upper Moutere, I work with quality materials, careful craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for the story each piece carries.

Reuse • Repair • Renew

A more sustainable way to furnish

I believe in the value of repair, reuse and renewal. Restoring and reimagining existing furniture helps keep beautiful pieces in use for longer and gives them a new chapter rather than sending them to landfill.

Less waste.
More character.
A brighter tomorrow.

Built from the inside out

Traditional upholstery is as much about what you don’t see as what you do. Where appropriate, Lisa works with traditional materials and time-honoured techniques, rebuilding each piece carefully before the final fabric is fitted.
